What, too busy to post?

Actually, Yes, I have been too busy to post here lately! I was away overseas (Philippines) for a few weeks. I actually have to admit that I’ve been swamped with too many thing to do and not enough cash coming in, but, that’s usually the case isn’t it (?).

I haven’t abandoned this site entirely and do plan to begin posting new stuff soon (we all hope so). Fortunately for all of you, this isn’t the only site about Photoshop online.

Cool Photo Cube Project

I’ve been really busy lately creating files for sale in the Envato Marketplace, specifically on GraphicRiver.net. I run my account there under the Username: Graphic-Studio, you can view my works by clicking here. One of the recent items I’ve created is THE SMART OBJECTS PHOTO CUBE – You can change the 3 images easily using Smart Objects:

Basically, what you have here is a File PLACED within a File. It’s really easy to work with Smart Objects. this simple Photocube uses 3 external files PLACED within the document, then the images are transformed to fit the CUBE.

If you haven’t yet used Smart Objects, you should give it a try!

In the last newsletter I sent out there was a Free Smart Objects Sample download given…along with instructions about how to create the file.

If you haven’t yet signed up for our Newsletter, your should do so now, the form is at the top of the main front page on the right sidebar.

I’m hoping to write a tutorial soon about creating an Image flow using Smart Objects Look for it here soon.

Our NEW 2010 Website

Well, we’ve finally gotten our new theme together and online, you’re looking at it right now.It’s been quite an experience getting the original PSD Sliced and coded for WordPress 2.8.6, and it works fine in 2.9, whish is what we’re running now.

I’m pretty happy with and hope you are too.

The new Metal Finished Logo was created by Preston Racette ( http://prestonracette.com ) who is a First Year Graphic Design Student, and was the choosen Finalist in our 99Designs.com Logo Contest.

I originally wanted to reveal my new design for Photoshop-Tricks for 2010 with a New Theme! It’s been a long time in the making — unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’ll be ready. I have yet to locate that special person/company or whatever will finish the coding part for the new site.

But, here I am making a post about how I created the idea for a Newer Theme. Here’s a peak at what I want to do:

Some of the elements are probably a bit tricky to implement in WordPress, but I just wanted to share with you readers what I’ve been up to lately!

Theres’ quite a bit happening there in that file above. Some ideas have been borrowed, some have been imagines — so far I have a ways to go before I can find the right coder for this project. If you know someone interested in the job drop me a line!

Cool Chinese Illustration

I am driven towards chinese illustrations for some reason or another. I thought I’d share some really inspiring images of illustration found over at sucaitianxia.com — I can’t provide translation, and babelfish didn’t help much either, but here they are some really interesting images from the East Orient! Some of these are Calendar Covers, others are Advertisements and some are just nice graphics!

Light Glass Text

So here’s the info you need to create a Glass Look for your Text. It’s all shown in the dialog box snapshots. This effect works best on a light background, but it could also work on a dark background.
